The 🔹Trial Pledge

You choose the percentage of income you wish to give and for how long.

With a 🔹Trial Pledge, you can choose the percentage of income you wish to give (which could be as low as 1%) and for how long you want your trial pledge to last. For example, you could try giving 10% of your income for the next year to see how it feels before committing to the full pledge. Or, you could decide to start with 5% for six months and then if that goes well, increase the amount. Some people keep renewing their trial pledges for their whole lives simply because they’ve found a level of giving that’s right for them.

The 🔹Trial Pledge is a great fit if:

  • You want to first see how giving feels before committing to a full 🔸10% pledge (almost like a try out!)

  • You want to commit to giving, but you have a specific number in mind

  • You need time to work through your existing FI plans and financial commitments to see what percent contribution is right for you

P.S. Keep in mind this is a percent contribution, not a firm nominal amount.

If you are working now and earning a higher income, know that if you plan to retire early or scale back from working, your donations scale alongside your income.

See how this might play out for someone on the FI path.
