Share your pledge and inspire others

The success of the FI-lanthropy Pledge—and our collective ability to create meaningful impact—relies on the power of community. By taking the pledge, you’ve already made a bold and generous commitment. Now, you can amplify that impact by making it public. Most people first hear about giving through someone they trust. Your personal story matters. Please share it.

Ways to share your pledge:

Add The Pledge to your email signature

The average office worker sends 40 work-related emails a day. You can reach a large audience simply by adding your pledge to your signature. Here's how pledge-taker Dan updated his to show his generosity.

We recommend linking directly to The FI-lanthropy Pledge or even some of the charities you care about. If you've written about your experience, you can even link to post or article. Here are some other examples of what you might like to write in your signature:

I pledge to give 10% of my income to effective charities
Join me in pledging 10% of income to charity – together we can end animal cruelty
I donate 1% of my income. This is why I share it in my signature.

Add the 🔸 emoji or 🔹 emoji to your profile

Make sure to add the orange diamond emoji to your social profiles 🔸 if you’ve taken the 10% Pledge (or a small blue diamond 🔹 emoji if you’ve taken the Trial Pledge). This symbol has shown its "stickiness" and is promoting increasing awareness of pledge taking.

Open Canva file and make a copy
Choose which image you want to use
Upload your photo and drag it into the image
Click on the text box for the name, and replace it with yours
In the top right hand corner, press the share button, and select download

Share your story on your website or blog

Use your voice to shine a light on giving. Share your personal story on your own blog, a local newspaper, student magazine, professional journal, company newsletter, etc.

Here's an example from pledge-taker Aaron. He created a unique page on his website to talk about his giving and even showcases charities he's supported.
